Summer Camp

Sugie attended day camp over the summer. I was going to keep her at home with me and the baby, but she insisted on going to summer camp. After a few sick days at home, I guess she realized that the baby and I weren’t exciting enough for her.

She absolutely LOVED camp and still wishes that she could be there instead of school. She made a lot of new friends and even found a boy that she wanted to marry. Nice.

They had great activities planned each day. The best part was going on a field trip at least 3 of the 5 days each week. Sugie went everywhere around the city & had a blast!

One of the not so great things about summer camp was that she picked up some sayings and attitudes from the older kids. We quickly told her that her 1st grade teacher wouldn’t tolerate that, so she’s starting to forget some of those things she learned (hopefully)!

During the last week of summer camp, the kids put on a Talent Show. We were invited to a nice lunch where the kids made placemats and table decorations. The rest of the room was decorated with art projects from the summer. Everything was so cute!

Sugie performed in 2 songs in the Show. She had such a great time doing the dances and watching the other kids perform. Here a few snippets of her performances. (Sorry the camera work isn’t too great!)
