Happy Birthday to me!!!

It's my 32nd birthday today!  It didn't start off too well.  Little Buddy, who has slept through the night since he was 4 weeks old, woke up at 4 am.  He's getting two new teeth, so I think this is what was bothering him.  I put him in our bed, which is something I've never done before with him.  I woke up at 4:30 to a wet bed - his diaper must have leaked out all over my side of the bed.  Thank you, Buddy!!  But, things got better after that!  I had a white chocolate raspberry cheesecake waiting for me at work and the hubby sent me a gorgeous bouquet of 2 dozen roses.  After a great dinner that I didn't have to cook, Sugie sang Happy Birthday to me!!  I opened presents and ate a chocolate peanut butter cheesecake for dessert!  Thanks to

everyone for all of the cards, calls, and gifts!!!

 

Here Comes Peter Cottontail...Again!

The kids slept later than usual on Easter Sunday. However, once Sugie woke up, she immediately wanted to see if the Easter Bunny had made a visit to our house. The Easter Bunny was more than generous with the amount of goodies in their baskets!

After church, everyone came over to our house for lunch. It was cute watching my nephew and grandpa play baseball on the Wii!! When lunch was over, the kids discovered that the Easter Bunny hid eggs in the backyard. We waited for a sunny moment in between random snow showers and headed outside. Isaac found a few eggs, but mostly wanted to swing and play basketball. Sugie was excited to find a note in one of her eggs from the Easter Bunny saying that he hid a special prize inside the house. After a few intense minutes of searching, she was ecstatic to find the movie "Enchanted". I've already lost count of how many times she's watched the movie since Sunday!! We spent the afternoon watching basketball with the family. What a fun, exhausting weekend!

Here Comes Peter Cottontail....

What a crazy busy, yet fun weekend!!  It started off with an Easter Egg hunt at my old church.  It was cold, so the games and crafts were held indoors this year.  The kids brought home so many eggs and soooo much candy.  

After lunch at church, we raced home to get Buddy down for a nap and Sugie changed into her party clothes.  She and her daddy went to a friend's 4th birthday party.  Sounds like Buddy and I missed quite a shindig!!  There was a ton of food and cake.  Sugie came home with a book, lunch boxes for each of them with their names painted on them, and personalized construction hats.

Then, we all raced to the portrait studio to get Buddy's 18 month pictures taken.  The kids did so awesome; it took less than 5 minutes in the studio to get some great shots!  We rewarded the kids with a trip to Fazoli's (or "Ravioli's" as Sugie puts it!).  They sure do love that place!

We were exhausted when we got home!  After the kids were in bed, the hubby and I still had enough energy to play some Olympic games on the Wii.  We have so much fun holding our Saturday night Wii tournaments! 

A-hunting we will go!

We all went to an Easter egg hunt at church on Saturday.  Of course, it rained all day so the hunt was held in the gym and classrooms.  My nephew's group hunted in the kitchen and had a ball!! This was Buddy's first time hunting eggs and he wasn't really into it that much - until he saw candy fall out of an egg.  Sugie's room was packed, but she still made out like a bandit!

On Sunday, the kid's daycare was holding a hunt at 12:45.  We knew the timing would be tight since church gets out at noon.  We snuck in a quick lunch and made it to the park at 12:49.   Last year, the rules part seemed to go on forever, so we felt confident that we wouldn't miss anything.  Turns out, we missed the entire hunt!  It must had started earlier than the posted time.  We felt so bad for Sugie!! So, the hubby hid eggs for Buddy and Sugie in the front yard when we got home.  Sugie had a hard time finding her last egg, but had a great time!!  Buddy did soooo good and quickly mastered the art of Easter egg hunting!  Two hunts down, two to go!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

We had fun celebrating this day!  First, Sugie picked out green outfits for the entire family.  The hubby wasn't over-excited about Buddy's green leprechaun socks, but I thought they were completely adorable!  The kids ate Lucky Charms for breakfast, had green milk at school, and had shamrock shaped green jell-o at home.  Sugie even got a green sucker at dance class!  It's fun celebrating these special days with my precious angels!

Poor Buddy

My precious baby boy had to get his second round of ear tubes inserted last week.  He's had countless ear infections and a lot of fluid behind his eardrums.  Last month, he kept digging in his left ear until he pulled out a funny shaped little blue tube.  So, the doctor reinserted it and replaced the right tube.  Buddy did great during and after the surgery.  The worst part was that he was not able to eat or drink anything until after the surgery at 10:30.  Anyone who knows my child knows that he has a healthy appetite.  He's got the huge belly and chunky thighs to prove it!! He was definitely getting cranky around 9 am and kept asking for food and juice.  It broke my heart to not be able to give him anything.  So, he tried to eat his crayons.  Luckily, his aunts showed up with a great diversion - a balloon!!  Five minutes after the surgery, our Buddy was double-fisted with a donut and bunny cookie!  

Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!

We finally got a decent snowfall that didn't include any ice!! The children were so excited to see the 4 inches of fluffy white snow!  This was Buddy's first real experience with the snow.  He walked right out into it without any trepidation.  Sugie, of course, started eating it immediately. We all had so much fun sledding down our big hill, throwing snowballs, and making a snowman. Sugie kept trying to ice skate since she's used to our basketball court being a sheet of ice from all of our wonderful ice storms!! Buddy pulled his gloves off at least a million times.  What a fun way to spend a Saturday morning!

Fun with the Friends & Family!

What a fun weekend! First of all, we had AWESOME weather!! It was almost 70 degrees on Sunday! The spring-like temps were short-lived, though - it's supposed to snow tonight. The hubby and Sugie played everything from baseball to soccer to hopscotch on Saturday. Then, the whole family went to the park on Sunday. The kids had a great time swinging.  Sugie kept wanting to go "higher and higher" while Buddy chatted and grunted the entire time.

On Saturday, we had a playdate with one of my girlfriends and her two boys, ages 3 and 1. Buddy slammed the playroom door shut on B's fingers and was a little stinker. :(  Sugie and C played dress up.  Of course, Sugie ended up in her usual apparel for company - high heels and a bathing suit.  C wore Sugie's cheerleader outfit most of the afternoon.  It looked funny on a boy, but he was proud of it!  Sugie had the most fun cutting out silly shapes in the Jell-O for their snack.

After they left, mom and the kids came over for a pizza party and a Wii competition.  I still can't get over my boxing loss to my mom.  It was a tough match and my arms are still sore from it today.  We had so much fun playing together, trash talking, and creating our Mii's.

On Sunday, we went to church and to mom's house for lunch.  It's amazing that a 13 year old, 9 year old, 4 year old, and 1 year old can play so well together and truly enjoy each other's company.  The best part was when Buddy took off with Sugie's pink headband.  It was a fast race around Mimi's house!!!  We were rolling with laughter watching our chubby, still-working-on -his-coordination Buddy pump his arms as fast as he could to get away!

We finished off the weekend with a poker party in the basement.  Sugie loves it when the "guys" come over.  She gets to be Daddy's helper and each as many potato chips as she wants!  Needless to say, the kids were exhausted Sunday night and put up no fights at bedtime.
