Our New Pet

Buddy got a new pet for Valentine's Day - a Scooby Doo chia pet!!! We've never had a chia pet before, so it's been fun to watch it grow it each day. Buddy was confused at first and thought it was a Scooby Doo that he could play with. Now, he thinks it's pretty neat that Scooby has green hair! The kids love checking the status of Scooby's hair each day.
Day 1 - planting the seeds

Day 8 - He's getting some hair!!
We'll keep you posted on Scooby's locks as they grow out!

My Valentine

For Valentine’s Day, my dear sweet hubby took me to our favorite restaurant for a nice quiet dinner. The kids were thrilled to go to P&E’s house for a few hours. They were treated to a heart-shaped pizza, along with some of their other favorite goodies.

After dinner, the hubby and I stopped for coffee and dessert. While it was nice to get away and enjoy time with my hubby, it felt weird being able to complete more than two sentences without being interrupted. We’re used to two kids competing to tell us something or fighting or the baby babbling to tell us that he’s out of his food.

We had agreed to not exchange gifts, but the hubby still surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of roses and tulips sent to my work. I gave the hubby a top 10 list of reasons I love being married to him. Thanks for being my Valentine, sweetie!

(I'm not sure what's going on with Buddy and the pink glasses & slinky belt....)

Valentine Festivities

Each year, I take pictures of the kid's Valentine's stash from school. As usual, both kids did pretty well! Obviously, Baby's class didn't exchange cards since they would just probably eat them!

Buddy's room had a party with "tasty cookies" (quoted from the party boy) and treats from his friends. Buddy was most pleased with his pink and red heart straw. He chose to pass out Batman valentines to his friends. (It was a tough choice between Batman and Spiderman!)

Sugie didn't have a party, but got to pass out Valentines and candy in class. She wanted iCarly valentines, but settled on Hannah Montana when we couldn't find what she wanted. She also passed some out at cheerleading and daycare.

The kids also loaded up on goodies from the family! They loved their candy, tattoos, roaring lion, money for their piggy banks, Wizard of Oz & Scooby Doo coloring books, Webkinz, and heart-shaped pillow. Little Baby (and the rest of us!) loved his new magnetic XO toy and football rattle!! Thanks everyone!

8 months old

Our precious little Baby is now 8 months old!! He's got the sweetest, most easy-going personality and is such a little charmer. He never cries and is always happy. He's also chunky, just like his brother was! Other things about our precious at this age:

  • Rolls all over the place now
  • Scoots across the floor in just minutes on his bottom
  • Gets up on all 4's and rocks back and forth
  • Army crawls backwards
  • LOVES to try new food and especially loves his "puffies" at dinnertime
  • Says Mama and Dada, along with other babbles
  • Is still enamored with his siblings
  • Fusses when I leave the room or don't pick him up
  • Has a ticklish chunky belly
  • LOVES to play peek-a-boo
  • Smiles and laughs all of the time

Blue and Orange

It's cheerleading season again!! Sugie LOVES cheerleading! She is quite good because she is a natural leader, has great coordination and rhythm, and is great at yelling! We all love watching her cheer each week. Buddy especially loves it b/c he always gets a pancake-on-a-stick during the 2nd quarter!

Favorite Day of the Week

One of Sugie’s classroom assignments was to write about her favorite day of the week. I expected her to say Saturday or Sunday since most of our fun time is on the weekends. But, little Sugie wrote about Thursday.

I had to think for a minute on this one, but then I just smiled. Grandma picks Sugie up from school every Thursday. Sometimes they get a special treat or go shopping together. Some days they just go back to Grandma’s house and hang out. Whatever they do, Sugie loves her special girl time!

Super Bowl Party

We love football! Since our favorite team was in the Super Bowl we had to celebrate. The hubby went to an all day long party at a friend’s house. The kids and I stayed home and had our own party. (The game is on too late to take the kids anywhere on a school night.)

We all dressed up in our Colts blue and partied. We made pizza and special cookies. The kids wrestled through much of the game, which gave me the opportunity to actually watch some of it. It was a disappointing game, but was still a fun time with the kids!
