7 Years Old

Our first little angel turned 7 on June 2. Sugie had been so excited about her upcoming birthday! She had a countdown chart until her birthday and another one counting down the days to her party. I loved how excited she was about turning 7!

While the kids were asleep, I decorated a few things around the house to surprise her on the morning of her b’day. She loved it! She kept up her doorway and chair decorations and balloons for a couple of weeks!!

The hubby and Grandma picked her up early from summer camp on her big day. They got ice cream and then went to the nail salon to get a mani/pedi. Her nails look so cute!
She had a soccer game that night and was thrilled to show off her nails to all of her friends. After the game, she opened presents from us (clothes from her favorite store) and the boys (earrings for her soon-to-be pierced ears). I think that she had a great birthday!!!

Things about Sugie at this age:

• Shoe size: 10
• Clothing: Shirts XS and pants size 5 slim
• Loves school and doing homework
• Is not a neat freak like her parents
• Is scared of storms
• Is very helpful and likes to please
• Loves to shop
• Insists on wearing dresses or skirts, tank tops, chooses fancy shoes over sensible ones, wears large clip on earrings, always has on a necklace and bracelet
• Likes anything with peace signs
• Only wants to wear clothes from Justice
• Is getting to be less picky of an eater, but still won't eat melted cheese or food with blueberries in it. (She likes both cheese and blueberries, but only in specific formats!!)
• Would rather hang out with us than play with toys
• Has really bad eczema on the back of her legs and is started to get self conscious about it
• Throws a drama fit when slightly injured, this includes paper cuts
• Likes Justin Bieber, iCarly, Miley Cyrus, and any dancing TV show

Sugie, you are everything we could have dreamed a daughter would be. You are so special to us. You are a bright, talented, caring, loving, helpful, precious angel. We love your passion for dressing up and being a total girly girl and how you adore your brothers. We love you so much!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a super fun Memorial Day weekend! We had a few plans, but most of the weekend was reserved for at-home fun and relaxation!

Sugie played soccer on Saturday morning. Then, she went to a birthday party for her BFF. While Sugie was at the party, the hubby and Buddy went Grandma’s house to mow the grass. This meant alone time for just me and Little E! It was so wonderful, for both of us! I got so much work done and still had plenty of time to play and cuddle with Little E. I had forgotten how easy life is with just one kid - not nearly as fun or exciting, but definitely a lot easier.

When everyone came back home, we enjoyed an afternoon in the pool. Buddy still loves to jump in the water, showing off his “Superman” and “Batman” super jumps! Sugie likes to see how far she can swim and practice different swim strokes. Little E likes to chill in his swim float or be held.

After wearing out the troops, we ate dinner at Hacienda, one of Sugie’s favorite places. (It’s so weird ordering 3 kids meals now!!) We ordered a special treat for dessert, the Mudslide – a huge, freshly baked chocolate chip cookie covered by 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. Yummy! We’re pretty sure that Buddy ate over half of it! He LOVED it!


The next morning, we were going to surprise the kids by taking them to see the new Shrek movie. However, the crazy kids wanted no part of that and just wanted to swim. Fine with me! It saved me $50! My family came over later to join us in the pool. It was a fabulous afternoon!

That evening, we had a cookout and the hubby had the guys over. The kids and I love when the guys come over. The kids bug all of the guys, so Little E and I get some quiet playtime together! What a super weekend and we still had one day left!

Memorial Day

Our Memorial Day tradition is to visit the cemetery and pay our respects to the hubby’s dad and family and then go to a wonderful pizza place in another city. I look forward to this pizza all year!

We must have gone to the cemetery earlier than usual because our pizza place didn’t open until much later in the day. We were bummed!! So, we picked up different pizza (I’m still bummed) and went home to swim.

Later, Sugie invited a BFF over for playing and swimming. The girls were really good about letting Buddy join in on some fun. What a great weekend!

Little E is now doing what Buddy did when he was learning to walk - pushing Sugie around in the stroller! It's the cutest thing to watch and the kids get a kick out of it!

Water Bugs

My kids LOVE the water! We've already been in the pool a lot this summer. Little E didn't get to enjoy the pool last year since he was just a little infant, but he's had plenty of opportunities this year. He wasn't too sure about floating around at first, but is used to the idea now. He doesn't even seem to mind getting splashed by the kids.


Sugie loves swimming around the pool without a float or water wings! She can barely touch the bottom on her tippy toes. Buddy loves to jump in off of the ladder and swim around on his noodle, or seahorse as he calls it.

Little E is a model!

Although it isn't his best picture because it doesn't showcase his cute smile and precious personality, our Little E has made it onto his daycare's website!! I was looking at it the other day and was surprised to find my little baby's picture! Of course, they did pick the cutest baby in the bunch!
