Labor Day Fun

We didn't have many plans over Labor Day weekend which was so nice!!  We were supposed to have incredibly crummy weather with remnants of Hurricane Isaac coming through, but it actually wasn't too bad.  Our Monday was fairly rainy, so I let the kids play outside in the rain.  Then, they got the hose out and had a water battle.
They had so much fun!!  I even got in a few sprays to the kids!

More Ice Skating

We went back to the ice rink over Labor Day weekend.  Buddy did so much better and was able to stay on his feet for almost a complete circle around the rink.
Buddy tries to walk and step on the ice instead of glide.  We're still working on that!

Sugie, of course, took advantage of the full rink and had a ball!
Little E and I sat in the bleachers and watched them skate.  Then, Little E ventured upstairs to watch the people work out in gym.  It was a fun afternoon!

My Little Cleaner

My Little E has always loved to clean.  He was thrilled when he got a cleaning set for his 2nd birthday!  So, each week his household chore is to clean windows.  He LOVES it and cries when I don't let him clean!  Love this kid!
Did I mention that he likes to clean in his skivvies?!?

Holiday World 2012

In late August, the family went to Holiday World!  We had been meaning to get up there earlier this summer, but just ran out of time!  This was Little E's first trip to HW.
The boys just got off of the new swing ride.  Buddy and Sugie LOVED it.  Little E was not tall enough, so we rode the carousel while they rode the swings.
I don't know how many times we rode these Jeeps.  Each kid had to have their turn at the wheel.

We road Ragin' Rapids before lunch.  Let's just say that Little E was not a fan of that ride.  Usually one person gets really soaked on that ride.  Of course, it was my boy who was crying to get off of the ride the entire time.  Nice.
After lunch we headed to the water park, which is the kids most favorite part of the day!  The kids and the hubby hung out in the wave pool.  Little E and I hit up the kiddie area.  He loved the water slides!

The hubby and kids on the racing slides.
The hubby won, followed by Sugie and then Buddy.
The kids found another play area while we were leaving the waterpark.
We rode the Frightful Falls a gazillion times.  It's Buddy's favorite ride!!  We couldn't convince Little E to try it!

On our way to get ice cream. the kids stopped to watch a diving show.
What is that on the hubby's face?  It's his spoon like Little E.  Nice pic, dear.
We found the kiddie rides when we were leaving the park.  We told the kids that to just ride one, but we ended up riding them all...some of them twice!  They had so much fun and there we no lines.

What a perfect day!  We had a great time!!!  On the drive home, I jammed to my music, Sugie watched a movie, and all of the boys took a nap!

Sugie's Summer Packet Party

At the end of each school year, kids are given the option to take home a packet of homework to complete over the summer.  When school starts again in the fall, those with completed packets get to attend a big party during the school day.  We've always required Sugie to do the packet to keep some of her skills sharp over summer vacation.

She had a lot of fun at the packet party...at first.  After getting the butterfly painted on her face, she sat down to watch kids do scooter races.  One of the scooter wheels ran over her pinkie finger and caused some pretty good damage.  A few weeks later, the nail still looks pretty nasty and we're not sure if it's going to stay on.  Ick! Poor thing!!!

Another Otter's Game

Wow, we've really been good baseball fans this summer!  We went to another Otter's game in August with several of our friends.  The place was PACKED!!  Thankfully, our friends saved us some seats!  They ended up with record attendance this night!

Buddy and me!

Our friend's kids... this was his first baseball game!

Much fun was had with glow sticks!

My precious little E.
We stayed for the whole game because there was a fireworks show at the end.  It was really good!  The score to the game was tied in the 9th inning, so I was afraid that we'd go into extra innings, but it thankfully ended.  We got home around 10:30 with some very tired kiddos!

First Day of School 2012

The kids started back to school on August 15. I still can't believe that Buddy is a Kindergartener this year!!  He wasn't overly excited or overly anxious about starting at a new school.  He's just a go-with-the-flow type of kid.  We met his teacher at Open House a few days before school started.  She seems really, really nice!  He's is a class with our neighbor friend and a few friends from his baseball team.

Fourth Grader!?!  Wow, this little miss is growing up!  She was super excited to start school again.  She loves the social aspect of school, not necessarily the academics!  She was scared that she wouldn't know anyone in her class, but she practically knows everyone.  She is excited to change classes for Math, English, and Science.
