What is so funny?

One-on-one time with the kids is great! Each one is well-behaved and very pleasant. But, when the two come together - watch out!!

Buddy was very excited when his sister came home from dance class tonight. The hubby and I were enjoying a nice chat in the kitchen while the kids were wildly playing in the living room. They absolutely adore one another and have so much fun together! Everything was going along fine - wild - but fine. Then, we heard the hysterical laughing.

The hubby and I looked in the living room and saw the kids looking up, like this:

So, we looked up and this is what we saw:

Yes, that is a pink teddy bear hanging from our ceiling fan. I'm still not really sure how it got up there. (I'm afraid to to ask!) This was no small feat for the children since they are short and the living room ceiling is around 12 ft high. I thought this was hilarious and laughed along with the precious children! The hubby just shook his head and proceeded to save the bear.

Another cookout!

We had another cookout on another Saturday night! It was so much fun!! This one was at our church; they really know how to throw a party! We only planned on staying for about an hour, but ended up staying the whole time. We went to the puppet show, which Buddy LOVED! Then, we visited all of the animals in the petting zoo - 2 goats, a donkey, a calf, bunnies, a dog, chickens, and ducks. Buddy liked all of them; Sugie was partial to the bunnies.

We had a nice family dinner with a ton of food. The kids got snowcones and popcorn after dinner. Buddy's lips were blue the rest of the night from the snowcone!! Sugie and my sweet niece made it over to the face painting table for some pretty designs. We went back inside for the magic show put on by a great local magician. Sugie really enjoyed this, but wasn't brave enough to volunteer to be an assistant.

Next, it was bounce house time! The church had three huge inflatables for the kids to run wild through. After that, the kids made their way to the playground where they had a ball running off the rest of their sugar wilds. We had to drag them to the car b/c they didn't want to leave. It was a great evening!!!

Kindergarten - Week 6

This week, I decided to record Sugie singing one of her new songs. Normally when she performs, she's dressed to the nine's in a dress/skirt ensemble, high heels, and big earrings. She turns up her music much to loud, (right now she's in to the Cheetah Girls), grabs her microphone, and performs her little heart out on her "stage" outside of her room. When I asked if I could record a song, she whined and complained. Not quite the reaction I was expecting from my performer. She only agreed after I said that I'd tape Buddy instead. So, here's a rather dull version of her Integrity song. The very end showcases her true personality!

Thank You!

Here is Buddy thanking a friend for a birthday present. He loves to race the cars!! He has a lot of fun with the bubbles. His only problem is that he tries to eat the bubbles half of the time! Thanks again, M!

Race for the Cure

We all wanted to sleep in after our party last night, but we got up to walk in the Race for the Cure at the mall. We walked with the hubby's aunt, a survivor(!!!!), for one mile around the mall. It was cool this morning and sprinkled on us about 1/2 of the time. Sugie was pretty good, just cold and tired. Buddy has his moments where he didn't want to share the wagon with his sister. After the race, we ate a really early lunch in the food tent. Sugie loved the pink cake and Buddy loved the cookies. Both kids fell asleep in the car on the way home. This is what I found on the couch shortly after we came home.....

Our cookout!

We had a great time Saturday night at our cookout party! The hubby cooked chicken, brats, hot dogs, and cheeseburgers. Everyone else provided chips, sides, or desserts to stuff ourselves with! We ended up with 12 adults and 11 kids.

After dinner, the kids ran around playing in the cars, on the bikes, drawing with sidewalk chalk, playing on the swingset, playing basketball/football/badminton, jumping in the bounce house, playing ring toss, playing hopscotch, hula hooping, and coloring pictures. Buddy finished the food on everyone's plates after they left the table. Then, he went around and finished off their drinks, too!!

The adults had fun talking and playing a good game of badminton. Around 8, we cleared the basketball court, so that the guys could play a few rounds of b-ball. The kids (aged 9 months to 11) all had a blast playing together. This is definitely something we plan on doing each year!! Sugie and Buddy were filthy and exhausted, but didn't want the evening to end. What a fun night with good friends!

Kindergarten – Week 5

Sugie is definitely Mimi made over – she loves shoes, jewelry, makeup, tights, dresses, & shopping. She came home last week from school with another Mimi trait – organization! The minute she walked in the door, she said, “Mom, I need some organization!”. She laid out her clothes & shoes for school the next day and put her backpack in an “organized” spot. She about had a come-apart when I tried to move her backpack to my organization spot! She kept talking about organization the rest of the evening. It’s so funny hearing these big words come from my little girl!

Sugie was soooo excited that Grandma picked her up from school one day. After school, they went to Target. This is where Sugie went on a shopping spree with Grandma’s credit card!! My little precious came home with a bracelet, hair clips, makeup, candy, pens, writing board, and picture frame to decorate. She even left a few goodies at Grandma’s!! She was so proud of her new treasures!
