It's hard to believe that my baby turned 2 today!!! Happy Birthday Buddy!!  We had such a fun time at his Wiggle-themed party.  Buddy was SOOO excited when he saw his cake that we had to do that part first at the party!  He ate all of his cake and some of mine.  This left him with major sugar wilds while opening presents.  

He absolutely loved the cars from P & E!  He didn't grasp the concept of his new boxing set at first and ended up whacking Ty Ty with the boxing bag!  Sorry Ty!  It was great to have Grandma June join us at the party.  His big surprises were his bike from us and his Power Wheels truck from Grandma.  He almost fell asleep in it from going around in circles.  (Grandpa DID fall asleep watching the circles!!)  

We had a super fun time!!  Buddy was exhausted and couldn't wait for bedtime.  Thanks to everyone who came to the party to help us celebrate this precious boy!!

Hooray for Buddy!!!

Tonight was a very big night for our little Buddy! He poopied on the potty!!! We're so proud of him, especially his big sister. I'm so not ready for potty training. I'm sure this was just a fluke and it probably won't happen again anytime soon, but we certainly had a big celebration tonight for this milestone.

BTW - He got the big goose egg on his head this afternoon at school. One of his "friends" pushed him into a cubby.

Labor Day

Monday was a day where we could finally stay home all day together and do whatever we wanted! In the morning, we all went outside to play and watch the hubby cut down a tree. Sugie spotted some water balloons left over from her birthday party and asked if we could play with them. Since it was a very sticky, muggy day, it was the perfect idea!!

We had a blast throwing water balloons at the kids!! They even took turns throwing them at each other! My finger started bleeding from tying so many of them! Buddy started crying when all of the balloons were gone. It was so much fun!




After a lunch of yummy cheeseburgers, we headed outside again to go swimming. Sugie would swim 24/7 if we let her. Buddy was a crab at first, but livened up when his daddy spun him around in his float. It was the perfect end to our summer!

Kindergarten – Week 3

Sugie has settled nicely into her new school routine. At first, she didn’t like going to the after school daycare. But, she has made several friends and now looks forward to that part of the day.

She updates us daily about the classroom happenings – who got sick, who was sent to the principal’s office, who didn’t get to play at recess, etc. Speaking of the principal’s office, one boy has been sent there every day except for one since school started!! The hubby and I enjoy hearing the story each day of what gets him into trouble!!

Sugie’s teacher has a BS in Deaf Education. She has been teaching the kids signs for everything! Sugie learned the alphabet at her preschool, but can now sign the months of the year and words such as “stop”, “go”, and “quiet”. It’s so amazing to watch Sugie learn so many new things each day.

Dancing Machine

We had an incredibly crazy Saturday! Before we knew it, it was time to go to my cousin’s wedding in the afternoon. Sugie loved getting ready – Daddy did her nails and I curled her hair. Being the handful, but oh-so-precious boy that he is, little Buddy stayed with P & E for the wedding and my sweet niece for the reception.

We had a really great time at the reception!! Sugie could not wait to dance! When we drove past the country club to park, she told me that she had found the dance floor through the windows. There was only one other child there and she happened to be sitting at our table. Helen and Sugie made quick friends!!

The minute the dance floor was opened to everyone, Sugie and Helen raced out there. Sugie owned the whole floor by doing some ballet, some intricate floor work, and then broke it down. She called us out there every now and then to use as props to lift her in the air. She even schnuckered other guests to dance with her. I was in tears laughing for most of the evening!!!

A Night at the Ballpark

We spent last Friday night at the Otters baseball game. We had fun for most of the evening. It was very muggy and we had a tired Buddy. Here were our highlights:

Buddy – He loved, loved, loved Ace Purple, our college mascot, and Evan the Otter. He wanted to touch them, but when we got close to them he held on to me for dear life!

Sugie – She had fun the whole evening and didn’t want to leave. She had fun visiting with the clowns. They made her 2 balloon flowers (the first one broke) and made Buddy a dog. He untwisted his dog, so the creative balloon artist I am (not) made it into a hat. He eventually undid this and used the balloon as a weapon to whack his sister and dad.

Me – I had fun watching the kids dance to the music and enjoy all aspects of the ball game.

Hubby – He found out that they served Coldstone Creamery ice cream, so he insisted that we get the kids some. You know how that goes – the kids take a few bites and the rest belongs to Daddy!
